Bharti Singh Opens Up On Pay Curtailment Post Covid, ‘Pehle Mein Ek Lakh Leti Thi Par Ab…’
Comedienne Bharti Singh has scaled the art of tickling funny bones of the audience. She has earned fame in the showbiz world through her talent. But even after working hard for years, Bharti has been facing pay cut after the pandemic. In her recent vlog on YouTube channel, ‘LOL- Life Of Limbachiyyas’, she opened up on the same.
Bharti talks about fee reduction post covid
Bharti revealed that she is now shifting her focus more towards her channel than comedy shows. She said that many of her shows have suffered a severe reduction in remuneration post Covid-19. Their budgets have been affected. And that has happened in all the industries. She shared that now she receives fees which she doesn’t deserve. “Agar main jo charge karti thi, uska 25% bhi nahi doge aap, toh fir kaam nahi ho ho payega,” stated the comedienne.
Further in the vlog, Bharti mentioned that her remuneration has slashed to an absolute half after cost-curtailing by the makers of the show. The actress quoted, ‘Main 1 lakh leti thi, par ab 50 hazaar le rahi hu toh 6 ki jagah 3 jokes hi maarungi. Once I go on the stage, I don’t even remember for how long I’ve been asked to perform or how much I’ve been paid This is because I’m not someone who follows the script.”
Towards the end, Bharti asserted that if pay cut would prevail, she would like to step back from doing shows. She said that it is unfair for her to leave her son, Laksh behind for 12 hours or more to get something which she doesn’t deserve.
For the unversed, Bharti Singh has been entertaining the viewers since a long time now. She has been a part of several shows like ‘Comedy Nights’, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and ‘Khatra Khatra Khatra’. Bharti married screenwriter, Haarsh Limbachiyya in 2017 and the couple has a son together.
