“Charges Rs 200 Crore For Job Of Rs 2 Crore,” Kangana Ranaut Targets Superstar Aamir Khan
Actress Kangana Ranaut is one of the most sought-after heroines in Bollywood. She is not just known to deliver mind-blowing performances, but also for putting forward her views on the ongoing happenings in showbiz as well as the political world.
Recently, Ranaut got into a chat to shed light on the ongoing boycott culture in the Hindi film industry. Besides sharing the reason behind the failure of films in Bollywood, she vents her anger on the ‘Superstar status’ given to certain actors in the film business.
While talking about the loss Bollywood is facing due to back-to-back flops, Kangana said, “Right now the films that are working are full of Indianness. If we talk about Kantara, it is related to devotion and spirituality on a micro level. Ponniyin Selvan is about the Cholas. The audience relates to Hindu values in Kantara, PS 1. Influenced by western culture, Bollywood is straying away from our culture and is making more western (influenced) films. I think people can’t relate to them anymore.”
When questioned if Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha tanked due to boycott calls, Kangana took a dig at Khan. She slammed him for meeting Turkey’s first lady Emine Erdogan amidst the ongoing tensions of the country with India.
The Queen actress stated, “Superstars have all sorts of privileges. They take Rs. 200 crores for a job worth Rs. 2 crores. They fly in charter plans to places where one can take economy flights. People have now started questioning them if they are the ‘rightful superstars’ or not. If we talk about Aamir Khan, when there was a lot of tension in our country, when Turkey spoke against India, but you (Aamir) went there, agreed with them and got pictures clicked with them (Turkey’s first lady Emine Eddogan). He defamed our country throughout the whole world by calling it intolerant. This is a personal crisis. You are disgusted, ashamed to be an Indian.”
“All this made the common man question ‘if you are the right person who I should think of as a superstar?’, or ‘are you the person who I would like to give a part of my hard-earned money’. People who love their country have started to question if they should watch him. This is an awareness in this country and it is not related to the boycott culture,” she added.
On the work front, Kangana Ranaut will come up with Emergency which stars her as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She also has Tejas and the mythological drama Sita: The Incarnation in her kitty.
