Dia Mirza Recalls Her Struggling Phase, ‘Didn’t Cast Me Because I Was…’
Bollywood actress and beauty pageant winner Dia Mirza made her way to the hearts of audiences with her debut film ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’ in 2001. She did a great job as a newbie and went on to land roles in blockbuster films like ‘Dus’, ‘Parineeta’, ‘Kurbaan’ and others. However, ever after getting recognition, Dia faced many hurdles in her journey as an actress. In a recent interaction with Bollywood Bubble, she recalled the time when she missed out multiple opportunities because of her good looks.
Dia Mirza talks about initial days of her career
Opening up on suffering rejections in the film industry, the actress said that she didn’t come from any privileged and filmy background, therefore she had to carve her own niche. Dia mentioned how some wonderful directors frequently rejected her just because she was good-looking. However, she added that life is updated now and those same filmmakers want to associate with her at present time.
Furthermore, the 41-year old actress recollected how she began her film career at the age of 18 without any help. She shared that when she came to Mumbai, she lived alone, ran her house, cooked meals, did sweeping, mopping, dusting, arranging for gas, phone connection, etc. Dia said that she managed to do all her daily chores alongside work on her own.

Personally, Dia Mirza is settled with businessman Vaibhav Rekhi. The duo has a son named Avyaan. Before finding love in Vaibhav, the Miss Asia Pacific International tied the knot with Sahil Sangha. Their alliance ended after 5 years of marital bliss.
Workwise, Dia Mirza is gearing up for the release of her next ‘Dhak Dhak’. The film revolves around four women discovering themselves while on a road trip to highest motorable pass in the world. Besides Dia, it stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Fatima Sana Sheikh, and Sanjana Sanghi.
