Bollywood Politics On The Roll: The Deserving Ones Vs The Reserved Ones!

Latest debates on nepotism have been on the roll since Kangana appeared on Koffee with Karan and called him the ‘flagbearer of nepotism’. Gossips started doing the rounds and people, within the industry and outside, were seen speaking about the politics in Bollywood; how there are certain spots reserved for the star kids, how some undeserving actors are still getting acting opportunities due to their star connection and how the people from outside the B-Town are struggling to make a life despite the being the treasure of acting skills. We did a little research to tell you more about the two categories in which Bollywood has been partitioned. Let’s have a look.

The Reserved Ones:

Sridevi’s Daughter, Jhanvi Kapoor

It’s confirmed that Karan Johar is launching Jhanvi in his next venture ‘SHIDDAT’(This might be a remake of Marathi Blockbuster SAIRAT) opposite Varun Dhawan. While SAIRAT had an all new cast with unknown but talented actors, Jahnavi would be served a kickstart on a platter with an A-list co-star and a major production company to back her.

Saif Ali Khan & Amrita Singh’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan

As reported by an entertainment portal, Saif Ali Khan confirmed that she will be launched by none other than filmmaker Karan Johar, in his upcoming venture ‘Student Of THE Year 2’ opposite Tiger shroff. Sara has justified her parent’s good looks but can she be as talented as them in the acting department.

Amitabh Bachan’s Grand Daughter Navya Naveli

Navya’s social media pictures have already made users crazy about her. Now, everyone is eagerly waiting for her her appearance on silver screen.  Controversies have already marred the little starlet because of her close friendship with SRK’s son Aryan. Will Navya prove that she is more than just a part of the biggest bloodline in the Bollywood industry? Currently, Navya doesn’t have any plans to enter Bollywood, but the dreams of stardom can change a lot of plans, as said by her mother Shweta.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Daughter Suhana Khan

Just a teenager right now, she wants to complete her studies now and later ponder about entering Bollywood. However, with the kind of popularity she has gained at the age of a teenager, it won’t be a surprise to see her on the silver screen soon. Let’s just hope that she is the talented princess much like her King father.

Not just these girls, there are many other star sons that have a platform ready for their big Bollywood debut. This includes Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan, Suneil Shetty’s son Ahaan Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.

There is no doubt that there has been exemption where a new actress or actor from influential Bollywood families have done well in Bollywood by demonstrating their acting strength, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are perfect examples of it. Now, the question is how many years does it take to reach the same stage and same audience for talented actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Let’s take a look at the Deserving Ones:

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawazuddin Siddiqui started off with itsy-bitsy roles in Sarfarosh and Munnabhai MBBS. It took him more than 13 years before he was cast in a solo film. Today, he is the antagonist to SRK in Raees and Salman in Kick. This is not because of his 6 pack abs or protein toned body, but only on the basis of his acting talent. Imagine many such Nawaz still waiting for their struggling patch to get over.

Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan struggled from the day he stepped out of the National school of Drama during the late 80’s. It took almost 2 decades for our audiences to realise this pathbreaking actor’s potential. Today, Irrfan is an internationally recognised actor because talent can’t be bogged down. But he could have been given this same recognition early in his career which he well deserved, and not now when other undeserving star kids make more money than him.

Sushant Singh Rajput

When everyone in the industry was busy promoting and praising Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan Kapoor for his role in ‘Mirziya’, very few people showed the same love for Sushant Singh Rajput while he was promoting ‘M.S DHONI’. It is only when both the movies were released, that people realised the difference between Talent and Approach. But Harshvardhan has another chance to prove himself with Vikramaditya Motwane’s next film. Would Sushant have got another chance if ‘Kai Po Che’ or ‘MS Dhoni’ would have tanked??

There are many other deserving actors for major movies, who can do much better work than the ones who are already in the process of making their debut on silver screen just because of their family name that they carry along with them.

In short, the chances in Bollywood should not be given just on the basis of BLOODLINE, INFLUENCE, LINEAGE or APPROACH, but on the basis of TALENT and HARD WORK.
