Mithali Raj gets slut-shamed by Twitterati and the reason will boil your mind!

We are living in the times where cyber-bullying has become way too apparent than And, it looks like keyboard warriors have found a new target! Mithali Raj, the 34-years old captain of the Indian women’s cricket team who is hailed as Sachin Tendulkar of the women’s side, was trolled mercilessly for ‘indecent dressing’.
After previously being body shamed (where a certain Twitter user pinpointed about the sweat patch being visible in the picture posted by her), Mithali Raj was trolled on the social media, once again by self-proclaimed moral police for posting a hot selfie on Twitter.

On September 6, the cricketer posted a selfie on her Twitter account. In the throwback picture captured during some photoshoot, Mithali is accompanied by her group of friends, Amreen Khurana and Afshan Kaura. Twitterati was scooped seeing the photograph of Mithali Raj wearing a spaghetti top which was slightly deep-necked. This proved to be enough for all critics to begin tutoring the world-class batsman about how she should stick to Indian norms and not support indecent dressing.
The tweets ranged from telling her to take down the selfie to commenting on her indecent dressing and yes they are beyond ridiculous. Quite frankly, it is embarrassing to read comments about Mithali’s so-called fans shaming their idol and asking her to delete the picture.

According to them, it does not do justice to her ‘role- model’ avatar.
However, amidst the large pool of ‘decent dressing teachers’, a few came out in support of Mithali and defended her choice.

Well, it is not new to see women being slut shamed and getting trolled for what they are wearing. There have been innumerous incidents where even successful women have been schooled by our backward Indian society for wearing something ‘revealing’.
It isn’t new for us to see women being slut shamed and being trolled for what they are wearing. There have been various instances where celebrities have been called out for wearing something “revealing”.
This ace Indian cricketer might have several records against her name but all in vain by the netizens who were outraged over her choice of clothes.
Time to grow up, India!
