‘I Was The Trigger’: Sunny Leone On Her Mother’s Alcoholism After She Made Career In Adult Films
Bollywood actress and reality TV star Sunny Leone has proved her mettle in the industry with her dedication and hard work. Before making a name in Hindi cinema, the actress was an adult star. Her mother did not like that tag attached to her daughter. Unfortunately, Sunny lost her mom in 2008 before making acting debut in Bollywood. In a recent interview, the actress talked about her mother’s addiction to alcohol and revealed how her career in adult films triggered it.
In a conversation with Mid-day for their ‘Sit With Hitlist’ series, Sunny shared that her mom had started drinking much before she stepped into adult entertainment industry. She said that her mother’s addiction created a lot of problems in their house. The actress also mentioned how she often thought that her mom loved alcohol more than her.
Further, in the chat, Sunny called herself a trigger for her mother’s addiction to alcoholism. She said that her actions like reaching home late and doing something that her mother disliked were trigger points for the latter. It was a stamp trigger.
For the unknown, Sunny Leone’s real name is Karenjit Kaur Vohra. After participating in ‘Bigg Boss 5’ and getting spotted by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, the actress got a chance to change her fate. She started receiving offers from Bollywood. Soon after, Sunny left adult film industry and and moved back to India with her husband, Daniel Weber. She debuted in Bollywood with erratic thriller ‘Jism 2’. Post that, the actress starred in many films like ‘Ragini MMS 2’, ‘One Night Stand’ and ‘Oh My Ghost’. Besides this, she has taken hosting duties on MTV’s popular dating reality show ‘Splitsvilla’.
