According to reports, Kerala University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohanan Kunnumal directed the Registrar to ensure that actress Sunny Leone’s performance is not included in the list of programs. It is being told that this decision has been taken due to the stampede incident at a music event at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in Ernakulam in November last year. After this incident, the Kerala High Court said that the stampede during the festival was clearly due to some failure and should never have happened.

The Vice-Chancellor stressed that despite this order, the University College Union attempted to hold a dance event without the permission of the university. He said that under no circumstances would such events be allowed in the name of the union, either on or off campus.
