Travelling and visiting places always breaks the monotony of life. But there is nothing like going on a trip with friends. Its a fair advice to all ladies working or homemaker that if you plan three vacations in a year with family out of them plan at least one with friends only. A trip with friends is an out of the world experience. On a trip with family you are still expected to take care of things like clothes of children and husband, ordering meals according to every one’s choice, arranging tea, coffee, milk and snacks for everyone. It’s like you are still at home but with only a different address. This could be stressful and you might not feel relaxed, whereas with friends you just feel free, can talk and discuss any topic on earth, nothing-to-hide type of conversation, joke around and laugh loudly, stay awake late at night, wake up whenever you feel like, order any food or drinks. It is really an amazing experience.
As Pythagoras, a greek philosopher and mathematician has said “Friends are as companions on a journey, who ought to aid each other to persevere in the road to a happier life.
After almost 24 years of my marriage, I planned a Goa trip with my school friends, and I can assure you, this experience was incomparable to any other vacation. I felt so free, relaxed and rejuvenated, both physically and mentally.
The trip was small but it was a very good one and more memorable than any other trips I ever took. Travelling with my friends, I had different feelings about everything, though I had experienced it before. But the positive thing about this was that I could share it all with my friends. So do they. Such as I don’t have much interest in shopping while my friends are crazy about it. But seeing their child-like excitement of buying things, I too got caught in their excitement and enjoyed shopping which I was never able to with family because husband and son stood with long, grumpy and bored faces when ever I showed even a little interest in shopping while on a trip. And this is also why the trip with friends can be so interesting and fascinating.
Our cab driver who was around 60 years of age was pleasantly amused to see, Indian ladies enjoying so much. He commented that in his long career as a Cab driver he has seen first time only ladies group of Indian women. He has driven only families around and most of the time seen them spoiling the trip with heated arguments and lady of the family in tears because of difference in opinion on places to visit or even when ordering food.
Travelling with different people gives you different experience and variety of emotions. When you are with someone with whom you are well co-ordinated the trip will be better, full of amusement and comfort level will be higher.
As Mark Twain said, “I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.”
Travelling with friends can be incredible fun, believe me. When on holiday with friends we do different things which we can’t even imagine doing with family but always dream of.
