Omicron: No Need For Travel Restriction, Says IMA, As The Third COVID Wave Hits India
Concerns regarding the Omicron strain of coronavirus prompted the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to urge the government to hasten the immunization of children aged 12 to 18. The medical group congratulated governments for inoculating nearly 50% of the adult population with at least one dose of the deadly infectious virus vaccine. The IMA urged individuals to seek coronavirus vaccines.
The IMA recommended individuals wear masks in public and maintain social distancing standards. It also urged residents to postpone significant social events. “India can overcome Omicron’s impact if we focus on vaccination altruistically.” “The IMA earnestly appeals to all concerned to make vaccination a priority and ensure that all needy receive the second dose.” The doctor’s group opposed a travel restriction. Instead, they urged everyone to avoid unnecessary travel.
“IMA opposes a travel ban. We urge everyone to minimize unnecessary travel, particularly leisure tourism and social events. Everyone should follow the covid protocol,” it said.
