‘Pangs Of Guilt’: Anurag Kashyap On Refusing To Meet Sushant Singh Rajput 3 Weeks Before His Death!
The film industry got a major shock in June 2020, when the shining star Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his apartment. Since then, a lot of nepotism debate and controversies have been generated. Recently, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap opened up about not meeting the late actor in his last weeks.
In his latest interview, Anurag Kashyap revealed he was approached by Rajput’s manager to cast him in a movie. However, the filmmaker refused to meet him as he found Rajput very problematic to work with. Now, the ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ director is feeling guilty about not meeting SSR 3 Weeks prior to his death. He also said that he had his own reasons to not work with Sushant Singh Rajput. He said:
“And the day the unfortunate incident happened on the SSR, I felt so bad. Three weeks prior to that somebody was trying to reach out because he wanted to talk, and I was like, ‘No, he ghosted me, I don’t want to talk’. You get pangs of guilt.”
In 2020, Anurag Kashyap had shared the screenshot of whatsapp chat with SSR’s manager. In the chat, Sushant’s manager was convincing Kashyap to keep in mind the name of the actor for his next film. However, the filmmaker had refused by terming Sushant Singh Rajput as problematic.
FYK, Anurag Kashyap had directed Rajput in his first film, ‘Kai Po Che’. After that, the duo didn’t work together. According to Anurag Kashyap, SSR wanted to work with him but he refused because of his own personal reasons.
Now, after his latest interview, SSR fans are bashing Anurag Kashyap for being jealous of the acting skills and intelligence of the ‘Chichhore’ actor. On the work front, Anurag Kashyap’s recent films (including ‘Dobaaraa‘ with Tapsee Pannu) have not performed well at the box office. His next film ‘Almost Love’ will be released on 3rd February, 2023.
