Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Apologises After Ex-Girlfriend Hitting Video, Hollywood Displeased
After the security footage seemed to show him attacking singer Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016, Sean “Diddy” Combs issued an apology via social media. Sean said that his behaviour was “inexcusable” and that he accepts “full responsibility” for it in an Instagram video.
Sean’s apology
In the video post, he said: “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that. I was f****d up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in this video. They’re disgusting. I was disgusted then when I did it, and I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought professional help. I’ve been going to therapy and rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry, but I’m committed to being a better man every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I am truly sorry.”
Sean can be seen racing through a hotel’s hallways in March 2016 in the video, which CNN has confirmed. He is likely only wearing a towel around his chest. He then attacks Ventura close to a lift at the Century City, Los Angeles, InterContinental Hotel, which has since closed. Then he throws her to the ground by grabbing her from behind. Hollywood Reacts To His Apology
Cassie Ventura’s Lawyer, Meredith Firetog, reacted to the apology and called the “statement more about himself than the many people he has hurt.”
Rapper 50 Cent has kept up with Diddy’s legal troubles, and he hasn’t hesitated to post his reactions to social media. While sharing Diddy’s apology video on his own Instagram, 50 Cent captioned his post, “This is not going to work. Who is advising him right now? SMH, bad move [sic].”
Aubrey O’Day took to X to slam Diddy, accusing him of only apologising for everyone “seeing what he did.”
Whoopi introduced Diddy’s Instagram video to the View audience and shook her head silently in reaction. She later noted, “It’s easier to be sorry after people find out that you lied.”
