Siddhant Chaturvedi Opens Up On Being Misjudged As Cheater, Toxic After ‘Gehraiyaan’
After the release of his 2022 film “Gehraiyaan,” where he portrayed a character involved in a love triangle with Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi shared in an interview with India Today that he was perceived as a cheater by some. Discussing the aftermath of the film, the actor, currently engaged in promoting his recent Netflix movie ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’, expressed that there were misconceptions about him being unfaithful in real life.
In ‘Gehraiyaan’, Siddhant played the role of Zain, a philandering entrepreneur entangled in a romantic web with Alisha (Deepika Padukone) while engaged to her cousin Tia (Ananya Panday).
‘People thought I was a cheater’
When questioned about the challenges of letting go of a character, Siddhant Chaturvedi responded, “During that entire month of shooting, I feel, or at least people around me tell me, that I transformed into a different person. The way I walked, the way I sat—everything changed, even without my conscious awareness, as it was a subconscious process. However, I ensure that once the film concludes, the character has to be left behind. There are numerous positive aspects to glean from the characters I portray…”
He continued, “My approach is to cultivate empathy for the characters I portray. I become more empathetic and open towards them. Nevertheless, I never take it too seriously. After ‘Gully Boy,’ many assumed I was a rapper. And after ‘Gehraiyaan,’ some believed I was a cheater and a toxic person (laughs). So, no, I don’t carry anything from my characters. I just aim to be myself.”

In the recent film ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’, Siddhant Chaturvedi shared the screen with Ananya Panday and Adarsh Gourav. The Netflix movie, exploring the intricate realm of social media and its dangers. It was directed by debutant Arjun Varain Singh.
He worked on the screenplay with Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. The narrative unfolds the journey of Imaad Ali (Siddhant Chaturvedi), Ahana Singh (Ananya Panday), and Neil Pereira (Adarsh Gourav), three individuals in their 20s navigating love, heartbreak, and friendship within the context of the digital age.
