‘Sold Samosas, Worked 11 Hours Daily’: Munawar Faruqui Recalls Days Of Financial Struggle!
Famous rapper and stand-up comedian, Munawar Faruqui has earned a huge fan following post his stint on captivity-based reality show, ‘Lock Upp’. Not only did he win hearts but also ended up lifting the trophy of the show. However, the journey to make a place in audiences hearts and attain an army of fans was not easy for the comedian. He worked day and night to make it possible.
In a recent interview, Munawar opened up on days in his life when his family faced a huge financial setback. He recalled doing some odd jobs after his family struggled financially due to massive debt. The rapper also revealed that he had to leave his education at a young age.
In a conversation with Mashable India, Munawar revisited his younger days and shared that his dad lost all the money when their restaurant didn’t work. He came under a tremendous debt. This made the stand-up comedian to give up on his education and work for bare minimum to support his family. He disclosed making Rs. 850 by working 11 hours daily at a gift shop.
Further in the chat, Munawar told that his mother and grandmother used to make samosas at home and he would sell them on a stall outside his house to make his family get rid of the debt. He also shared getting blisters and burns on his fingers because of oil spluttering while frying the samosas.
For the unversed, Munawar Faruqui is known for his unfiltered comedies and romantic shayaris. He became even more popular with his appearance on Kangana Ranaut’s reality show, ‘Lock Upp 1’ in 2022. Besides this, Munawar has done few albums like ‘Gill Skill’, ‘Vol. 1’ and ‘Madari’.
