Things That Girls Wish They Knew Before Losing Their Virginity

The concept of virginity is associated with a lot of myths, and is still considered a taboo in many parts of the society. We got in touch with five girls from different walks of life, and asked them about the one thing they wish to have known before losing their virginity. Here’s what they had to say…
You may not bleed! –

“I assumed I would surely bleed after having sex for the first time, and I felt a bit conscious when it did not happen. Then, I googled about it, and got to know hymen is a very thin membrane which may even break when you are riding a bike or exercising. Ergo, the myth that a girl’s virginity can be judged by this is absolutely ridiculous, and everybody (especially boys) should know about it.”
Virginity is not a gift…

“I always thought I would only have sex with the guy, whom I would marry eventually. I broke-up with my boyfriend after dating him for 7 years, and realised my thought process was not logical. You may have sex with more than one person in your life, and it is not a gift that must be kept only for your husband. ”

It will not hurt…
“I was kind of scared of having sex for the first time, as I presumed it would pain like hell. But when I actually had it for the first time at the age of 24, it did not hurt at all. In fact, it was not even painful. Now I laugh thinking about it”

Your relationship may get weird.

“My first time was completely unexpected. We were drunk and had unprotected sex. The next day, I got really tensed and thought I would get pregnant. Then, I had to take a emergency contraceptive pill, and by that time, I had pressed the panic button. Thankfully, my boyfriend (now my husband) was very patient, and handled me with maturity throughout that phase.”

It is overrated.

“Before losing my virginity, I expected it to be an out-of-the-world feeling. I had a lot of fantasies, and they all got shelved when I had it. Though, it was pleasurable experience but not as much as it is bragged everywhere.”
