‘Waste Of Taxpayer’s Money’: Netizens Slam Vivek Agnihotri As He Goes For Morning Walk With Y-Category Security!
Director Vivek Agnihotri shared a video of his morning walk around the city. But the filmmaker, who made The Kashmir Files (2022), was not alone when he walked with his Y-category security cover. He said that this was the price he had to pay for making the film based on the killing and exodus of Kashmiri scholars from Kashmir.
He shared a video on Twitter. He tweeted, “The price one has to pay to show the Genocide of Hindus in Kashmir. In a Hindu majority country. Freedom of expression, ha.” Vivek added the hashtags ‘imprisoned in his own country’ and ‘Fatwa.’ He was seen in a black tracksuit. He was accompanied by a group of security personnel.

The video got mixed reactions on social media. Some people wrote, “What a waste of taxpayer’s money!” “oh my tax money.” One person tweeted, “Humare tax ke paise se security le rahe hain, apni movie tax free karke (he is getting security cover from our tax money after his movie The Kashmir Files was made tax free).” Some said that the director was showing off with his security team.
After the release of his film The Kashmir Files in March this year, the filmmaker was given a Y-category security cover. It involved the deployment of four to five armed commandos close to the guard.
The film is one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of the year with a total worldwide collection of ₹340 crores. It stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Chinmay Mandlekar, and Bhasha Sumbli.
