100 Days of Progress: Showcasing AYUSH and Homeopathy Achievements at CRI Lucknow

A press conference was held at the Central Research Institute (Homeopathy), Lucknow, to showcase the achievements of the Ministry of AYUSH, the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy (CCRH), and the Central Research Institute (Homeopathy), Lucknow, over the past 100 days. The event was chaired by Dr. Lipipushpa Debata, the Officer-in-Charge, alongside research officers Dr. Amit Srivastava, Dr. Divya Verma, and Dr. Pratibha Shivhare.
Dr. Debata highlighted the significant milestones achieved by the Ministry of AYUSH and CCRH, New Delhi, and provided a brief history of the institute. The Homeopathic Drug Research Institute (HDRI) was first established in 1972 as a Drug Proving Unit (DPU) at the Government Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Lucknow. In 1987, HDRI was upgraded, and the new building of the Central Research Institute (Homeopathy), under the Ministry of AYUSH, was inaugurated on 9th January 2024 by Dr. Munjapara Mahendrabhai Kalubhai, Honorable Union Minister of State for AYUSH and Women and Child Development.
The institute shifted to its new premises on 14th September 2023, and outpatient services (OPD) began on 18th September 2023, starting with 85 patients daily, which has now increased to 300 patients per day. Several programs, including clinical research, fundamental research, clinical verification, and collaborative studies, are running successfully.
Key achievements of the Ministry of AYUSH in the last 100 days include:
1. Organizing over 14,000 elderly health camps, exceeding the initial target of 10,000 camps.
2. According to NABH reports, 1,489 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAM) were evaluated, and 1,005 were certified for Ayush Entry Level Certification (AELC).
3. India and Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 1st August 2024 to collaborate on medicinal plants, advancing traditional medicine practices globally.
Dr. Amit Srivastava detailed the ongoing accreditation processes with NABL and NABH, and Dr. Divya Verma provided insights into the growing OPD services and clinical research at the institute. Research is underway on various diseases, including cervical lymphadenopathy, multimorbidity, migraine, hypothyroidism, and clinical verification, with additional projects in the pipeline.
The institute continues to offer comprehensive laboratory services, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, and provides essential medications sourced from GMP-certified companies.
