Babil Shares Father Irrfan Khan’s Old Interview, Recalls His ‘My Son Not Figuring Out’ Remark

Irrfan Khan, one of India’s most talented actors, was known for his remarkable ability to make audiences both laugh and cry. Beyond his acting, he was also a deeply devoted family man. In a past interview, the late actor spoke candidly about his son Babil Khan, saying, “My son is not figuring out.” Babil, who has since entered the entertainment industry, recently shared this poignant moment on his Instagram, reflecting on his father’s words.

In the Instagram post, Babil shared a clip from an interview featuring his father alongside Akshay Kumar, where Rajeev Masand commented on how both of Irrfan’s sons would likely have “figured it out” by now. Irrfan humorously responded, “My son is not figuring out.” Babil, touched by this remark, expressed his mixed feelings, recalling how, at the time of the interview, he felt lost in life. He added that despite his struggles, he now looks back on his father’s honesty with warmth and gratitude. Babil wished he could have shown his father how far he’s come, having “made it out” and found his own path in life. He also thanked Shiv Rawail for giving him the opportunity to act in his debut OTT show, “The Railway Men”.

Babil went on to share personal anecdotes from his time studying in London, where he lived on a tight budget. He worked in bars, at football stadiums, and even shot music videos while struggling to make ends meet. Despite these hardships, he spoke fondly of the “hustle” and how it shaped him. Reflecting on the minimal pocket money he had during his days at the University of Westminster, Babil shared that 600 pounds a month was barely enough, but it taught him resilience.

This isn’t the first time Babil has shared heartfelt memories of his father on social media. Months ago, he posted a picture of Irrfan along with photos of his own work abroad, reassuring his late father that he was continuing to work hard and chase his dreams.
