On March 20, the Bombay High Court officially granted choreographer Dhanashree Verma and cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal a divorce. Coinciding with this, Dhanashree released her latest song, “Dekha Ji Dekha Maine”, which explores themes of infidelity in marriage. Later that day, when approached by the paparazzi, she tactfully avoided discussing her divorce and instead directed attention to her new song.
Dhanashree Avoids Divorce Questions
During her interaction with the media, Dhanashree made it clear that she was unwilling to comment on her separation. When a paparazzo asked, “Ma’am, kal ke baare mein aapko kuch bolna hai?” (Do you want to say anything about yesterday?), she responded by shaking her head and making a small hand gesture, signaling her discomfort. Instead of addressing the question, she simply said, “Gana suno pehle” (Listen to the song first).

Another paparazzo pointed out that her song seemed to reflect her real-life situation, to which she responded with a thumbs-up and appeared visibly emotional. Dressed in an all-black cut-out outfit paired with minimal jewellery and subtle makeup, she maintained her composure despite the probing questions.
Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal had tied the knot in December 2020. However, as per their court petition, they had been living separately since 2022. They officially filed for divorce on February 5, submitting a joint petition for separation by mutual consent. Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal has been making headlines for his rumoured romance with RJ Mahvash, after the two were spotted together cheering for Team India in Dubai during a Champions Trophy match.
Dhanashree’s Song Sparks Speculation
The release of “Dekha Ji Dekha Maine” has sparked curiosity among fans, many of whom believe the song mirrors Dhanashree’s personal life. Shot in Rajasthan, the music video features Dhanashree alongside actor Ishwak Singh, best known for “Paatal Lok”. The storyline portrays a troubled marriage, with one scene showing Ishwak’s character slapping his wife (played by Dhanashree) in front of a friend. In another scene, he is seen being intimate with another woman, reinforcing the song’s theme of betrayal.
Sung by Jyoti Nooran and composed by Jaani, the song has been drawing significant attention, especially given the timing of its release. While Dhanashree has chosen to remain silent about her personal life, her music video has left fans speculating about the parallels between art and reality.
