Singer Monali Thakur has dismissed recent reports about her hospitalization, urging fans and the media to refrain from spreading unverified information about her health. On January 22, it was reported that the singer had experienced difficulty breathing during a performance in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, and was subsequently admitted to a private hospital.
However, Monali took to her Instagram story on Thursday to clarify the situation and assure her followers of her well-being. “Dear media and everyone concerned for my health, I hope you’re doing well. I’m writing this to request that no unverified news about my health be shared. I truly appreciate all the love and concern, but I want to make it clear that I am not dealing with any breathing issues and I was not admitted to any hospital. That’s false information,” she wrote.
Monali explained what had actually happened during her performance. “I was feeling unwell recently due to not getting enough time to recover from a viral infection/flu, causing it to relapse and result in slightly severe sinus and migraine discomfort and pain in flights. That’s all there is to it,” she shared. The singer confirmed she is now back in Mumbai, receiving treatment, and resting for a swift recovery. “I’ll be absolutely fine in no time! Let’s not make this bigger than it is, especially when there are much more important things to focus on,” she added.
A video circulating on social media showed Monali visibly distressed as she was escorted to her car by her team and security officials, fueling speculation about her health.
This incident follows a few weeks after Monali halted a concert in Varanasi due to mismanagement, citing concerns over stage safety and the risk of an ankle injury. During that time, Monali had criticized the organizers for poor infrastructure, which led to some controversy. The event organizers later accused Monali’s manager of a serious misconduct claim, which was later addressed after an apology was issued. Monali thanked the Uttar Pradesh Police for their intervention in that matter.
Monali’s fans have shown immense support as she recovers, and the singer reassured them that she will be back to performing soon.
