Aamir Khan is one of Bollywood’s most popular actors. There’s a reason he’s known as Mr Perfectionist. Almost all of his films find a way into the hearts of his followers, but one film in particular, Lagaan, has remained in the hearts of his admirers. Today, June 15, marks the 21st anniversary of the premiere of Aamir Khan’s cricket drama Lagaan. To mark the occasion, the celebrity is hosting a get-together with the film’s cast at his home in Marina today.
Lagaan is one of the most popular films of our time, and it is considered to be one of the most timeless pictures, suitable for audiences of all ages. Apart from Mother India, Lagaan is the first Indian film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Despite the fact that the picture has been out for almost two decades, its appeal has not waned. The main cast is expected to gather at Aamir Khan’s home today to commemorate the film’s legacy. Last year, the whole team electronically gathered together to celebrate the mega-hit film’s triumph. Even a pandemic couldn’t keep the cast from declaring the movie’s success.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan will next be seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, in his much-anticipated film. Advait Chandan is directing the film, which will feature Aamir in a turbaned avatar. After 3 Idiots and Talaash, this will be Aamir’s third collaboration with Kareena. It’s worth noting that Laal Singh Chaddha is the official Bollywood version of the Tom Hanks-starring Forrest Gump. Laal Singh Chaddha, which also stars Naga Chaitanya in a prominent role, is set to be released on August 11 this year.
Atul Kulkarni wrote the Indian version of the screenplay. Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios produced ‘Laal Singh Chaddha.’
