Piyush Mishra on communism destroyed his life

Piyush who himself has been a communist at the time when he had not stepped into the world of acting stated, “Communism turned my life upside down. There was a time when communists had a hold over me. It happened in Delhi. They used to say that the concept of family is a bad thing, and one has to work for the society. Are ‘parents’ not part of the society? According to them, society is different and state is different. Revolution will come from somewhere. One has to wait for it in anticipation. In this way, they made me work for them for 20 years.”

Taking the conversation further, Piyush said, “I used to work silently for them. Whatever I used to earn, I had to give it all to them. Earning is a sin in communism and whoever runs after money is a ‘capitalist’. At one point, I was left with nothing. I had abandoned my parents, wife and everyone. I had lost a sense of responsibility towards my family. Slowly, I realized that I have become a bad son and husband but promised to myself that I will not be a bad father. Then, I decided to leave communism and later,  joined the world of cinema.”

Workwise, Piyush Mishra appeared last in web show ‘Salt City’ and film ‘Kanjoos Makhichoos’.
