Abhijeet Dismisses Salman Khan As ‘Unworthy’, Calls Shah Rukh Khan ‘A Different Class’

Renowned playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, known for his work in nearly 1,000 films across languages, recently stirred controversy with his remarks about Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. During a candid conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, the singer dismissed Salman Khan as unworthy of discussion while lauding Shah Rukh Khan as a man of a “different class.”

Abhijeet, known for his outspoken nature, refrained from elaborating on Salman, stating, “Salman abhi bhi unme nhi aata ke mai uske baare me charcha karu (Salman doesn’t come to the place where I can talk about him).” He firmly requested the interviewer to change the topic, making it clear he had no interest in discussing the Tiger 3 actor.

However, the singer was more forthcoming about Shah Rukh Khan, highlighting that any discord between them was purely professional and not rooted in misunderstandings. “Baaki inke baare me aap mujhse baat mat karo (Please don’t talk about him (Salman Khan) with me),” he reiterated.

This isn’t the first time Abhijeet has addressed his tumultuous relationship with Salman Khan. In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, he shared a surprising anecdote about his involvement in the hit song Tan Tana Tan from Salman’s film Judwaa. The singer revealed he had agreed to record the track under the impression that it would be performed by Govinda, not Salman.

Recalling the incident, Abhijeet said, “Anu Malik called and asked me to come to Sahara Studio to record a song for David Dhawan. David never called us for rehearsals. He’d say, ‘Make them hear the song, and whatever Abhijeet sings will be final.’ I recorded the song, assuming Govinda was part of the film.”

He further explained his surprise upon learning Salman was in the movie, stating, “David Dhawan never worked with anyone else apart from Govinda back then. No one told me Salman was in the film. Trust me, I didn’t know.”

Abhijeet’s remarks highlight his continued candor about his professional experiences with Bollywood’s biggest stars, sparking fresh debate about the dynamics between singers and actors in the industry.
