Filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap, who directed Salman Khan in the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg, has made a series of scathing remarks about the actor and his family. In an interview with Screen, Kashyap accused Salman of not being “interested in acting,” claiming he “hasn’t been for the last 25 years.”
“Salman is never involved,” Kashyap stated. “He does a favour by turning up to work. He is more into the power of being a celebrity, but he is not interested in acting. He is a goon.” Kashyap admitted that he was unaware of this side of the actor before they worked together. He further added, “Salman is ill-mannered, he is a bad person.”
Kashyap also criticized the entire Khan family, accusing them of controlling Bollywood’s “star system.” He labeled them “vindictive people” who “come after you” if you don’t agree with them.
After the success of Dabangg, which was produced by Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan, Abhinav went on to direct Besharam (2013). The Dabangg franchise continued with two more installments, though Abhinav was not involved in them.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan was recently seen in AR Murugadoss’s action drama Sikandar and will next appear in Battle of Galwan. He is also the host of Bigg Boss 19.
