Popular TV actor Karan Mehra who played the lead role alongside Hina Khan in India’s longest-running daily soap Yeh Rishta kya kehlata hai has been accused by wife and actress Nisha Rawal of thrashing her after a brawl.

On 31 May, actress Nisha Rawal registered a complaint at Goregaon Police station against her husband Karan Mehra. The actor got arrested for the same by Mumbai Police this morning but is now out on a bail.

Karan has revealed, “I was talking to my mother over the phone when Nisha barged in and started hurling abuses at me, my parents, and my brother. She started shouting loudly and not only that Nisha even spat on me twice. When I asked Nisha to go out, she threatened me by saying ‘see what I do now’ and went out. She then smashed her head on the wall, and told everyone that I did it.”

According to Karan, Nisha was asking for a very high amount of alimony. Her Rakhi brother Rohit Sethiya was also threatening Karan for the same. Nisha’s brother came to their house to sought things out but nothing worked. Last night, the fight between the couple took an ugly turn and as per Karan’s statement, Nisha’s brother has assaulted Karan by hitting him on the chest.

The rumors of Karan and Nisha’s marriage hitting a rough patch started circling the media at the beginning of May. However, they were trying to mend things. In an earlier interview to a leading daily, Karan denied all these airs. He said, “I have no clue what led to these rumors all of a sudden. I saw this news today only and I have been getting calls from everywhere. When Nisha got the news, she had also cleared it. Even after that, I don’t know how these rumors started spreading.”

Karan got into the Punjabi TV industry and was in Chandigarh last month for the shoot of his show. He flew back to Mumbai after few crew members got COVID positive. Karan also tested positive for Covid-19. Due to Karan getting busy with his work, the couple was unable to spend quality time together.

Karan and Nisha got married in 2012 after having dated for 6 years. They fell in love on the sets of Hastey Hastey where Karan was working as a stylist. They were later seen together in Nach Baliye 5 and Nach Baliye shriman v/s shrimati.  The two have a 4-year-old son from their marriage. Just Yesterday, both Karan and Nisha shared pictures with their son Kavish Mehra on social media.
