Actress Kavya Thapar Arrested For Drunk Driving & Abusing Policemen- Deets Inside

Mumbai-born actress Kavya Thapar was arrested in the early hours of Thursday for drunk driving and abusing policemen.

The incident took place near JW Marriott Hotel at around 1 a.m. on Thursday. Thapar was returning from a party that she had attended with her friends. She was under the influence of alcohol when she rammed her car into a parked car.
When the police received the information, the Nirbhaya squad from the Juhu police station was rushed to the spot of the crash. When they started questioning the actress, she allegedly abused them and even tried to manhandle them. According to a statement, she also grabbed the collar of a lady constable.

Thapar was arrested and was produced before the magistrate court in Andheri and remanded to judicial custody. She has been sent to Byculla women’s jail and will remain there till she is granted bail. She has been booked under the sections of the IPC and Motor Vehicles Act.

The 26-year-old actress made her acting debut in the Hindi short film ‘Tatkal’. She also featured in ads for the brands Patanjali, MakeMyTrip, and Kohinoor. She works in the Tamil and Telugu film industry and was last seen in 2021 in the ‘Telugu film Ek Mini Katha’.
