Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the best actors Hindi film industry has ever produced. Before the pandemic, the actor was on a roll as his subject-oriented films were proving to be profitable to everybody involved in their making. The success rate of Khurrana’s films led to an increase in his remuneration. He was taking around Rs 25 crores for a film until now.
Post pandemic, like many other actors, Ayushmann’s career has also been affected in various ways. The last two offerings of the actor did not perform well as a result of which Ayushmann has reduced his fees to pre-pandemic level i.e. Rs 15 crores per film.
A source close to the Vicky Donor actor revealed, “Ayushmann’s acting fees have come down from a sum of Rs. 25 crores to Rs. 15 crores following the below-par performance of Anek and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. The producers of his upcoming films have requested the actor to support them in tough times and he willingly agreed for the larger good of the films. His new market rate is Rs. 15 crores.”
It further shared that though Ayushmann is getting multiple offers, he is waiting to see how Doctor G fares at the ticket window before taking up his next project. “He is occupied with Dream Girl 2 till year-end and will decide on his next project once the two films release. In fact, Ayushmann is very hopeful that the forthcoming releases will get him back in the race,” the source added.
Let us tell you that the film industry is in a rebuilding stage. The films are failing to impress the audiences. There are more misses than hits. So, in such a critical situation, producers are not willing to pay actors huge amount as fees. Before Ayushmann, Akshay Kumar, who used to charge Rs. 144 crores for a film, has slashed his fees to Rs. 72 crores. John Abraham, Shahid Kapoor, and Rajkummar Rao too have reduced their remuneration by half.
