Speculation regarding the separation of Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been growing after recent events fueled the ongoing rumours. On Wednesday, Aishwarya attended the Global Women’s Forum in Dubai, where she delivered a speech focused on women’s empowerment. However, what caught the attention of many was the omission of the “Bachchan” surname from the screen behind her, which displayed her name simply as “Aishwarya Rai | International Star.” This omission quickly sparked further speculation on social media.
While the couple has remained tight-lipped about the rumours surrounding their relationship, Abhishek recently expressed gratitude for his wife’s dedication to their family. In an interview with The Hindu, Abhishek fondly spoke of Aishwarya’s commitment to raising their daughter, Aaradhya. He recalled how Aishwarya took a step back from her acting career after Aaradhya’s birth, much like his mother, Jaya Bachchan, had done for him. “My mother stopped acting when I was born because she wanted to spend time with the children. We never felt the void of Dad not being around,” he shared. Abhishek also emphasised the importance of Aishwarya’s role in their family, acknowledging her sacrifice and care for their daughter. “In my household, I’m lucky I get to go out and make movies, but I know that Aishwarya is at home with Aaradhya. I thank her immensely for that,” he said.

The divorce rumours first began circulating when the couple arrived separately at a high-profile wedding in July. The speculation intensified further when Abhishek liked an Instagram post discussing the rise of “grey divorces,” which seemed to reference long-term couples parting ways. The post, which Abhishek interacted with, posed the question, “Why love stops being easy?” and highlighted the increasing trend of divorces among couples who have been married for years.
Abhishek and Aishwarya, married in April 2007, have one daughter, Aaradhya, born in November 2011. Despite the ongoing rumours, the couple has yet to publicly confirm or deny the speculation regarding their relationship.
On the professional front, Abhishek and Aishwarya have worked together in numerous films, including Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000), Kuch Naa Kaho (2003), Dhoom 2 (2006), Guru (2007), Sarkar Raj (2008), and Raavan (2010).
