Akshay Kumar Pens A Note Saying, “I Am Sorry” After Being Trolled Over the Tabacco Ad

Khiladi urf Bollywood’s action star Akshay Kumar landed in controversy after working in an advertisement for tobacco. The actor is known for promoting health and wellness but as he has worked for a Tabacco brand, netizens trolled him brutally on social media.

After collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgan, Akshay becomes the target of trollers. However, the actor realized his mistake and apologize for his mistake to the fans and well-wishers.

Akshay is continuously pointed out by the netizens, some of them offended by his choice and some of them accused him of promoting gutkha. Akshay shared a tweet “I am sorry” note for the fans. Akshay wrote, “I would like to apologize to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi (tobacco brand). With all humility, I step back.”

Further, he added “I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return, I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes.” However, the actor didn’t mention what’s the duration of the contract for the tobacco ad.

Some of the users also shared a through back clips of Akshay in which Akshay can be seen asking about not promoting any Tobacco brand. as he believed in the concept of a “healthy India”.
