Akshay Kumar Shares His Views On Working In 1-2 Films A Year: ‘If I Can Work, Then Why Not?
At the trailer launch of his upcoming film Sky Force on Sunday, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar reflected on his 33-year career and his commitment to hard work. The actor, known for his discipline and prolific output, vowed to continue his efforts and overcome a dry spell at the box office.
“It’s not that this has happened for the first time. The best part is you keep on working hard. That is what I tell myself,” Akshay said, addressing reporters about his lackluster 2024. He added, “If anyone talks to me about it, I say the same thing—that you have to keep working hard.”
The actor’s recent releases, including Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira, and Khel Khel Mein, failed to perform well at the box office. Despite the setbacks, Akshay remains undeterred, pointing out that he has faced similar challenges in the past.
At the event, he shared how some in the industry have advised him to reduce his workload, suggesting he focus on “one or two films a year.” However, Akshay rejected the idea, stating, “If I can work, then why not? I have based my entire career on that.”
Akshay also revealed that he has been urged to avoid content-driven films, but he remains committed to his vision. “I don’t want to stop. I want to do these kinds of films as well as others. I am very proud that I made Sarfira, even though it didn’t work,” he said.
Directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur, Sky Force promises to be an action-packed drama. The film introduces Veer Pahariya, brother of Shikhar Pahariya, in his acting debut. It also stars Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan in pivotal roles.
Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Sky Force is set to be a high-stakes thriller with Akshay at its helm. The actor’s determination and energy at the trailer launch signal his readiness to take on both challenges and new opportunities.
Akshay Kumar’s resolve to break his box office dry spell and continue experimenting with diverse roles underlines his enduring commitment to his craft. With Sky Force, the actor hopes to soar once again.
