Akshay Kumar started shooting for his first Marathi film, Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat, in Mumbai on Tuesday. The actor plays Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the historical film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. He shared a new photo of himself wearing the legendary Maratha warrior costume as the film kicks off in Mumbai.
Akshay posted a photo of himself with folded hands in front of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s portrait on the first day at set. He captioned, “Aaj Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat ki shooting shuru kar raha hoon, jisme Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ji ki bhoomika kar paana mere liye saubhagya hain, mein unke jeevan se prerna le kar Maa Jijau ke ashirwad se mera pura prayas karoonga. Aashirwad banaye rakhiyega

The actor also revealed his full get-up as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in costume on set in another post. In the video, Akshay can be seen walking towards the camera as a jubilant song with the slogan ‘Jai Shivaji, Jai Bhavani’ plays. He also captioned his post,’Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji. ‘

Apart from Akshay kumar Jay Dudhane, Utkarsha Shinde, Vishal Nikam, Virat Madke, Hardik Joshi, Satya, Akshay, Nawab Khan, and Praveen Tarde also appear in the Marathi film. Vaseem Qureshi’s Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat will be released in theatres on Diwali 2023 in Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Akshay was most recently seen in the October release Ram Setu. He recently appeared in Ayushmann Khurrana’s An Action Hero, which is currently in theatres.
