Bollywood, the dreamland, is a world of facades. Filled with actors, everyone acts, in reels as well as in real life. People put on their happy faces and remain cordial with everyone; even the other person shattered their heart in a million pieces. Most actors who’ve broken up are at the very least formal with each other. But some broken hearts never recovered. They held on to the grudge and still refused to make up with their exes.
When we think about exes who are still not on speaking terms, a few famous couples from the 2000s are worth mentioning.
Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
This dreamy couple falls in love with the set of ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. Along with their relationship, their break-up was also in the limelight. However, actor Salman Khan and beautiful actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan parted ways after being together for two years. The reason for their breakup was Bhaijaan’s aggressive behaviour and alcoholic misdemeanor. Ashwariya blamed and accused Salmaan Khan of physically assaulting her. He also constantly doubted her. His possessive nature led her to lose many films. According to her, any self-respecting woman would have done the same.
John Abraham and Bipasha Basu
Bipasha and John met for the first time at the set of ‘Jism’ (2003). Their sizzling chemistry on set soon turned into a full-blown romance. They, unlike their contemporaries, were always open about their relationship. Many hearts were broken when they called it quits after 9 years. John married his now-wife, Priya, after two years of dating. Priya was a mutual friend who used to attend the same gym as Bipasha and John. Bipasha has hinted at cheating from John’s side. She has openly spoken about her break-up. She has post-break-up talked about her feelings of abandonment and loss after giving nine years to a guy and realising it was gone overnight.
Abhishek Bachchan and Karishma Kapoor
On the sets of ‘Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya’, the duo began their romance, which lasted for five years. They soon promoted their relationship and got engaged in 2002 on Big B’s 60th birthday. But this fairytale soon ended, and the couple parted ways in 2003. Suneel Darshan, in an interview, revealed that the two were ‘constantly bickering’. Both families maintained silence during the break-up. Many rumors circulated regarding the break-up. From the Bachchan family pressuring Karishma to quit her career, who was at the height of her fame, to Babita, Karishma’s mother, asking the couple to live separately in another house from the Bachchan family or demanding the half-assets of Bachchan be transferred in her daughter’s name. Whatever the reason, the break-up became imminent.
Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia
In February 2005, the couple made their relationship public and were spotted on several occasions together. They took their relationship to another level and bought the IPL team, Kings XI Punjab, together in 2008. But soon things took an ugly turn and got worse with time. It all started in 2009, with Ness slapping Preity at a party. The couple broke up after a few months but remained cordial as they were involved professionally. On June 13, 2014, a complaint was filed against Ness Wadia, accusing him of molestation, threats, and verbal abuse by Preity. The complaint continues, explaining that for some time now, the duo has not been speaking and has had a couple of heated arguments regarding work. The most shocking thing was that, despite him assaulting her in public, no one took a stand for her.
