Music composer-singer Amaal Mallik has expressed gratitude to his fans for their support while urging the media to refrain from harassing his family. The artist, who recently opened up about his mental health struggles, requested that his vulnerability not be turned into sensational headlines.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Amaal wrote, “Thank you for the love and support, it truly means a lot. But I would request media portals not to harass my family. Please don’t sensationalise & give negative headlines to my vulnerability. It’s a request.”
Clarifies Relationship With Brother Armaan Mallik
Amaal also addressed his relationship with his younger brother, singer Armaan Mallik, stating that their bond remains unchanged. “It’s taken a lot for me to open up & it is a very tough time for me. I will always love my family, but for now, from afar. Nothing changes between us brothers—Armaan and I are one, and nothing can come between us. Love & Peace,” he added.
Amaal’s Earlier Revelation on Mental Health
Amaal’s statements follow an emotional post on Thursday, where he revealed that he is clinically depressed and blamed certain family dynamics for his struggles. In a lengthy note on Instagram, he accused his parents, composer Daboo Malik and singer Jyoti Malik, of creating a rift between him and Armaan.
“Today, I stand at a point where I have been robbed of my peace, drained emotionally & maybe financially too, but that’s the least of my concerns. What really matters is that I am clinically depressed because of these happenings. Yes, I have only myself to blame for my actions, but my self-worth has been diminished countless times by the actions of near and dear ones that stole pieces of my soul,” he wrote in the now-deleted post.
Amaal further stated that he was distancing himself from personal ties and that his interactions with his family would now be strictly professional.
Amaal’s Career and Contributions to Music
Amaal Mallik made his Bollywood debut as a music composer with Salman Khan’s Jai Ho. He gained recognition for his compositions in films such as Khoobsurat, Roy, Kapoor & Sons, and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. His brother Armaan has lent his voice to several of Amaal’s compositions, including Naina, Buddhu Sa Mann, and Jab Tak.
As Amaal navigates this challenging phase, fans and well-wishers continue to extend their support, hoping for his well-being.
