Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel became an overnight sensation after her acting debut in the hit film ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ alongside Hrithik Roshan. But Ameesha was not the first choice to play Sonia in the blockbuster movie. She replaced Kareena Kapoor to portray Hrithik’s love interest after the latter had already shot for some time. When this trivia came out, Kareena made distasteful remarks on Ameesha leading to an unsaid animosity between the two. Now, in a recent interview, Ameesha has addressed her apparent feud with Kareena.

Ameesha on her alleged fallout with Kareena

While talking to Siddharth Kannan, Ameesha said that Kareena made some bold statements in interviews stating that she would have done a better job than her. The actress added that Kareena claimed to have stolen the limelight from Hrithik in the movie. However, the bottom line is that Sonia was Ameesha only and as per her, she did justice to the character. The actress quoted:

“Nobody can run away from this reality. What I could’ve done replacing other girls in other films I don’t know. Maybe I would’ve done them worse, maybe I would’ve done them better.”

Furthermore, Ameesha shared that she didn’t react to Kareena’s opinion back then as she was taught to never be disrespectful of others. She mentioned that Hrithik was a naturally gifted star and nobody could’ve overshadowed him. When asked if Kareena’s comments hurt her, Ameesha said that she was always very mature.

In a previous interview, Ameesha revealed that Kareena did not leave ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ on her own. She was shown the doors by director Rakesh Roshan due to some differences.

Kareena Kapoor made ugly remarks about Ameesha’s role in ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’. She said that the film was made for Hrithik. His dad spent five hours on his frames and close-ups. On the contrary, not even five seconds were spent on Ameesha. She stated that there were portions in the film where the actress has pimples and under-eye bags on her face. But every shot of Hrithik was a dream.
