The IE 100: Most Powerful Indians 2024 list includes several prominent figures from the Indian entertainment sector, including megastar Amitabh Bachchan, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, actor Alia Bhatt, and filmmaker Karan Johar.
Shah Rukh Khan, rank 27 (previous rank 50)
After a five-year hiatus, Shah Rukh Khan returned at the age of 58. He starred in three films that grossed over Rs 2,600 crore at the international box office. For the celebrity, who possesses more than 44 million X followers, it was all about the figures. Khan’s return with Pathaan restored the prestige of Hindi film after the epidemic, despite backlash on social media. With his subsequent picture, Jawan, which continues to be the biggest-grossing Hindi film ever, he once again raised the bar. He does this by taking on character-driven parts or by working as a game show presenter, brand ambassador, or social media icon with more than 48.8 million followers on X.
According to the 2023 Celebrity Brand Valuation Report, Bachchan’s brand is worth $79 million. The superstar is still unstoppable, as seen by the announcement of his team, Majhi Mumbai, ahead of his Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) debut. The superstar has developed a close relationship with his followers over the years, both online and offline.
