Amitabh Comes Nostalgic While Remembering Dark Days!
Due to the failure of his venture, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd, in 1999, Amitabh Bachchan went into debt (ABCL). He remembered creditors showing up at his house to collect the money he owed. Amitabh Bachchan recalls, “Creditors used to land at our door, be abusive, and even threaten”….. in those days when he was in debt of over 90 crores.
In 1999, Amitabh Bachchan’s company, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd (ABCL), was on the verge of bankruptcy due to significant losses. His debt was incurred as a result of the failure of his production, distribution, and event management company. In a 2013 interview, he talked about how creditors would show up at his house during this difficult time.
Amitabh Bachchan eventually recovered with the success of Mohabbatein and his television debut, Kaun Banega Crorepati, which recently celebrated its 21st anniversary.
In a 2013 interview with Mail Today, Amitabh admitted that he owed more than 90 crores to various people. “I repaid everyone, including Doordarshan. I did commercials for them instead of the interest component when they asked for it. I’ll never forget creditors showing up at our door, being abusive, threatening, and demanding, and even worse, when they came for ‘kudkee’ at Prateeksha, our home,” he said.
“That was, without a doubt, one of the darkest periods of my 44-year professional career. It caused me to pause and consider my options, weighing the pros and cons of various scenarios. The response was simple: I know how to act. I got up and walked over to Yashji (Filmmaker Yash Chopra), who was staying behind my house. I pleaded with him to hire me. That’s when the worm turned for him, and he gave me Mohabbatein,” he continued.
Amitabh Bachchan, 78, is now one of India’s busiest actors. He made his digital debut with Gulabo Sitabo, a film co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana, last year. Chehre, Jhund, Brahmastra, MayDay, and Goodbye are among his upcoming projects.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan will return to television with Kaun Banega Crorepati 13, for which registrations began in May. With the exception of the third season, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, he has hosted the show since its inception in 2000.
Meanwhile, the cast of Vikas Bahl’s upcoming directorial project Goodbye, which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika Mandanna, and Pavail Gulati, celebrated the completion of the film’s schedule. On Tuesday, Thappad actor Pavail Gulati posted photos from the film’s wrap and after-party to his Instagram account. He can be seen dancing with Rashmika Mandanna in the photos.
