For actress Ananya Pandey, who grew up watching the characters of Disney films, the special trailer launch event of Disney’s film ‘Inside Out 2’ held in Mumbai on Friday turned out to be a day of reliving many golden memories. Ananya, who calls ‘Simba’ and ‘Scar’ her favorite animation characters, also revealed how she cleans her pet dog’s excreta herself. Disney films have a long tradition of using the voices of eminent Hindi cinema artists and now Ananya Pandey has also joined the list of artists like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra who have given their voices in Disney films.

‘Inside Out 2’, the sequel to the film ‘Inside Out’ released in 2015, is the story of Riley who has now grown up. Her inner emotions are overflowing and the problem arises when the weird combination of these emotions and feelings starts brewing in her mind. Ananya says, ‘Even at this time, all kinds of emotions are coming together in my mind. Just now when I was coming here, my legs stumbled outside the theatre and I had to take support, so it was a moment of hesitation for me.’

When asked if she has felt jealous recently, Ananya says, ‘Just yesterday I was with my friends. My diet is very controlled to take care of my weight but I was very jealous seeing my friends eating butter chicken. On top of that, when the fragrant halwa came on the table and the way my friends enjoyed it, that moment was very jealous.’

Disney Star’s Head of Studios Bikram Duggal recalled the tradition of Disney in which these films collaborated with the best actors of Hindi cinema to give a local touch to Hollywood films. Remembering Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Bikram said that when the discussion was about choosing a Hindi film star to play the character of Riley in the film ‘Inside Out 2’, everyone unanimously approved the name of Ananya Pandey. Describing Ananya Pandey’s teenage image and her energetic personality as perfect for the voice of Riley’s character, Bikram Duggal expressed hope that like the first ‘Inside Out’, its sequel will also get a lot of love from the Indian audience, especially children.
