In the latest episode of Ashneer Grover’s Amazon MX Player show Rise and Fall, former cricketer Anaya Bangar made a candid revelation about her sex change journey and becoming a victim of catfishing by a famous cricketer after coming out publicly. The episode also saw heightened drama and friction among the contestants during the nomination process.
Anaya spoke openly about her transitioning phase to Kubbra Sait, saying, “It felt like I was hitting a second puberty as a girl. Day by day, I could see the hormonal changes; my body was starting to curve out.” She added that while she once had “chiseled 8-pack abs,” she now struggled with physical tasks.
During a discussion about catfishing, Anaya shared a surprising incident. “When I publicly came out in November 2024,” she recounted, “in December and January, while I was posting usual content on social media, a cricketer randomly added me. Without even talking to me, he just went ahead and sent his nude pictures to me. Everyone knows him; he is very famous.” She also discussed her plans for motherhood, revealing, “I have two options: I can either adopt or go for sperm freezing before the hormone treatment. I can become a mother, but through surrogacy.”
Earlier in the show, Anaya had emotionally shared her childhood struggles, her transition journey, and her ongoing fight for transgender athletes’ rights. She revealed that her transition surgery cost ₹50 lakhs, prompting fellow contestants Arjun Bijlani and Aarush Bhola to promise financial support if they won the show.
