In the latest celebrity social media drama, Ayesha Shroff, mother of Bollywood star Tiger Shroff, has taken a stand against a content creator who publicly criticized her son. A video posted by Arya Kothari titled “top 5 actors who should stop acting” went viral, listing Tiger as the number two pick.
The video, a collaboration between Arya and fellow creator Arnav Barchha, also included names like Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sidharth Malhotra, with Arjun Kapoor topping the list. When Ayesha saw the video a few days after it was posted, she left a sassy comment: “And you are who exactly?” The comment quickly went viral, garnering hundreds of likes and igniting a debate in the comments section.
The Internet Weighs In
Ayesha’s comment drew both support and criticism. Some fans praised her for defending her son, with one user writing, “Not many can pull off what he can do with his moves… hardworking and ever improving.” Another fan wrote, “Be proud of your son.. don’t worry ma’am.” However, others argued that the video was simply “public opinion.”
The video also drew the ire of fans of the other actors on the list, including Abhishek Bachchan, who was called “irrelevant” in the video.
Fans of Abhishek were quick to defend him, with one person writing, “You guys aren’t eligible to criticise his work. He’s an amazing actor who never got his due.” Tiger Shroff’s Career at a Glance Tiger Shroff, the son of Ayesha and actor Jackie Shroff, made a successful debut with Heropanti in 2014. He quickly established himself as an action star with hits like Baaghi, Baaghi 2, and War 2, and also starred in the box office success, Student of the Year 2.
However, in the post-pandemic era, Tiger’s career has hit a rough patch. His recent films, Ganapath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, both performed poorly at the box office, and he has faced increasing criticism for his performances.
Tiger is set to make a comeback with his next film, Baaghi 4. Directed by A Harsha, the action-packed movie also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonam Bajwa and marks the acting debut of former Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu. The film is scheduled to release on September 5.
