Popular television actress Ankita Lokhande became a household name with her daily soap ‘Pavitra Rishta’. The show features her with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Ankita and Sushant fell in love with each other while shooting the serial. At one time, the actress was so engrossed in her relationship with deceased actor that she began rejecting big-budget film offers. She started prioritising marriage over her career. In a recent interview, Ankita reflected upon her past decisions.
Ankita rejected good film offers for Sushant
During an interaction with ETimes, the actress called her decisions ‘wrong’. However, she quickly added that she can be sad about it but doesn’t regret it. Ankita said that she chooses not to be regretful because she took the decisions willingly.
Furthermore, the actress mentioned that she’d want to work hard to get back the position where she was offered such work. Ankita stated that as of now, she is living her ‘dream life’ with businessman husband Vicky Jain. So, her falling career graph doesn’t upset her.
In a previous conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actress had shared about turning down Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’. She said, “I remember Sanjay sir called me and said, ‘Kar le Bajirao varna yaad rakh, pachtayegi tu.’ He was literally praising me. Then I was like, ‘Nahi sir, mujhe shaadi karni hai.’ He did not have anything to say after that.”
Besides ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Ankita rejected Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’, Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ and Varun Dhawan’s ‘Badlapur’ as she wanted to settle down with her the then boyfriend Sushant.
Let us tell you that Ankita and Sushant dated for a long time before announcing their breakup in 2016. They were in a live-in relationship.
For the unversed, Ankita Lokhande made her Bollywood debut with Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika’. She appeared in a supporting role in the film. Later, the actress was also seen in ‘Baaghi 3’ with Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor.
