The actor informed his fans that the Ajayan Venugopalan directorial venture will be his 519th film. He holds the record for winning the Filmfare Award for Best Comedian five times in total for Ram Lakhan in 1989, Lamhe in 1991, Khel in 1992, Darr in 1993, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1995. He won the National Film Award for Special Mention twice for his performances in Daddy in 1989 and Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara in 2005.
