Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is often in the news because of his controversial statements. His personal and professional lives are always in public radar. Recently, Anurag Kashyap opened up about his struggle and the phase when his ex-wife had kicked him out of the house for being drunk.
“I locked myself in a room, and that’s when the drinking began. It was over. I used to drink heavily for a year-and-a-half. Aarti kicked me out of the house. My daughter was only four years old then. That was a difficult phase. I was depressed.”
FYK, Anurag Kashyap had started his career as a screenwriter. He made his directorial debut with the film ‘Paanch’. However, the film was never released due to censorship issues. He was also kicked out from the films he was a part of like ‘Tere Naam’ and ‘Kaante’. His bad phase had made him angry with the film industry. However, he got his first commercially successful film as ‘Dev.D’ in 2009. He then directed some other successful films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Raman Raghav.
