Arbaaz Khan recently spoke out about his love story with his wife, Sshura Khan, and slammed trolls who mocked their age difference.
Arbaaz Khan on his love story with Sshura Khan
Arbaaz Khan spoke with The Indian Express for the first time about his love story with Sshura Khan. He described meeting his ladylove and how, over time, he came to love her. Sshura Khan was working with lead actress Raveena Tandon on the sets of Arbaaz’s 2022 production, Patna Shukla, when he first saw her. Arbaaz added that his decision to marry her was not spur of the moment. He disclosed his two-year covert relationship with Sshura, saying:
“It was just a casual meeting, a professional meeting. Post that, when the movie got over, we met a couple of times. When we got married, we had been dating secretly for almost two years. Celebs tend to believe that their relationship should be known publicly, ours was under the wraps for almost two years. Whatever we were looking for in life, matched. We were willing to give each same amount of commitment, love and respect. It didn’t matter beyond that.”
Arbaaz Khan shares his family didn’t know that he was dating Sshura Khan
Arbaaz and Sshura desired to keep their relationship private and certain about each other. After reaching a decision, they shocked everyone by revealing their wedding photos. But Arbaaz revealed that his parents, Salim and Salma Khan, brothers, Salman and Sohail Khan, and sisters, Alvira and Arpita Khan, were in the dark about his relationship with Sshura, just like the general public. The producer-turned-actor revealed:
“Initially, they didn’t know. They knew I was just meeting someone, but when they realised that this is a huge step that I am taking, they were more than happy. In moments like these, you have the support of your loved ones because they know these decisions are made between two mature people.”
Arbaaz Khan addresses trolls who mocked his and Sshura’s huge age difference
Arbaaz and Sshura were ridiculed for their extreme age difference shortly after their wedding, but they showed no signs of being phased. Arbaaz revealed the reasoning behind it by saying that they were both well aware of each other’s age and that there are other factors besides age that sustain a relationship. Arbaaz criticised the trolls, saying:
“It’s not like we were not aware of it or we hid it from each other. As a girl, she knew what she was getting into, and as a man, I knew what I was getting into. Two people of the same age can be together and probably separate in a year. So, is age the only factor that keeps relationships going? Ask yourself. In fact, whenever you see there is a very big age gap between marriages, they have far higher success rates.”
