Archana Puran Singh usually doesn’t seem to be interested in revealing things about her life and childhood. Recently, she talked about her father in her elder son Aryaman’s vlog and told how her childhood was, and revealed that her father fought Sanjay Gandhi’s case since he was a well-known criminal lawyer. Archana Puran Singh narrated many stories of her childhood while living in Dehradun.

Let us tell you that the actress said that her father, Chaudhary Puran Singh, often got bribes. Once, someone came to their house with a sack full of money. Aryaman was surprised to hear this. Archana said, ‘We used to eat delicious food. We used to live in a bungalow. He had an Impala and all the fancy cars. Papa, your grandfather, was also Sanjay Gandhi’s lawyer.’

The actress further said, ‘He was a criminal lawyer. You won’t believe that despite being a criminal lawyer, he was so innocent and kind, so humorous… the humour in me has come from him. He was a great person. When he passed away, the whole of Dehradun came to his funeral. Everyone used to call him ‘Karmayogi’ because he was a professional and knew only his law. He defended big criminals because he was a defence lawyer’.

Archana said, ‘But he did not want his children to become lawyers. He used to tell us that not even one of your children will become a lawyer, because he knew that you have to sell your integrity. You know that he did wrong, but still, you have to sell your soul. So this thing used to give him a lot of problems.’ Let us tell you that Indira Gandhi’s son, Sanjay Gandhi, was accused of many things during the Emergency in the year 1975.
