Thanks to the success of Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files, which has shattered several box-office records. It has become the highest-grossing picture of the year. Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar are among the actors who appear in the film’s leading roles. Although most films released during the epidemic would be available on OTT in as little as four weeks (one month), The Kashmir Files will not be available in that time frame. The movie, lined up to debut on Zee5, will not be released on OTT platforms until after being shown in theatres for eight weeks.

As reported by Bollywood Hungama, The Kashmir Files was scheduled to debut on Zee5 in the third week of April, which would have coincided with the film’s sixth week in theatres at the time. According to a source who spoke to the site, “The Kashmir Files will not be released on Zee5 until it has completed its eight-week run in theatres.” Before the film was released, it was determined that it would not be available on OTT until 8 weeks after its release. Now that the picture is performing very well at the box office, the plan is to keep it in theatres for as long as possible to maximize its exposure. The Kashmir Files drew in the regular movie-going crowd, but it also drew in those who hadn’t been to a movie theatre in years.”

“The picture is in its third week of release, and even at this point, there is a great deal of demand for it, with the producers receiving requests from far-flung locations.” Despite the release of the critically acclaimed picture RRR, it has managed to maintain its viability. As a result, Zee Studios and the other stakeholders have yet to settle on a specific date for the digital distribution of the movie. However, it will not be available on Zee5 for another 8 weeks. “There’s no need to make concessions on the blockbuster theatrical run,” the source said.

The Kashmir Files will launch on OTT after its eighth week, which means it will begin streaming on Zee5 in the second week of May.
