Veteran actor Annu Kapoor has ignited a fresh controversy following highly inappropriate comments he made about actress Tamannaah Bhatia, specifically praising her “dudhiya badan” (milky body) and making suggestive remarks about her popularity. The comments were made during a recent interview, drawing sharp criticism from social media users who quickly labelled his language as “lewd and vulgar.”
Annu Kapoor’s Controversial Comments
The remarks were made during an interview with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel. The conversation turned to Tamannaah after the host mentioned a clip of her hit song, Aaj Ki Raat.
When asked if he admired the actress, an “excited” Annu Kapoor immediately responded with a highly sexualized comment: “Mashallah kya dudhiya badan hai (Oh my god, what milky body she has).”
This led the host to bring up Tamannaah’s previous statement that children fall asleep to her song. Kapoor used this as an opportunity for further double-entendres.
He began questioning the age of these “children”: “Kids of which age sleep? A 70-year-old can also be a kid. I would have asked this question to her.” He then added an unsolicited blessing: “Our sister is making kids sleep with her song, with her milky face and body, if she is making our children sleep sweetly, it’s very good… It will be a great blessing for this country that our children get a good and healthy night’s sleep. If she has any other wishes, may God give her the capability to fulfil her wishes. That’s my blessing for her.”

Widespread Social Media Backlash
Annu Kapoor’s explicit and suggestive language immediately resulted in a furious reaction across social media platforms, with users widely slamming the actor for his lack of respect and inappropriate behavior.
Many users found his comments “creepy” and “vulgar,” questioning his ethics. Comments ranged from outright disgust—”Ashleel hai ye (he is vulgar)” and “Wth! This man gives tharki vibes (This man gives creepy vibes)”—to personal appeals for decency.
Several commenters challenged him directly, asking, “Please be respectful. Don’t you have a daughter or grandchildren?” and “Will you say this to your own daughter?” The overwhelming sentiment online was that the veteran actor had crossed a line and should “Control annu sahab control.”
Tamannaah Bhatia on ‘Milky Beauty’ Label
Ironically, Tamannaah Bhatia herself had previously addressed the “milky beauty” label, turning the compliment into a point about female empowerment and celebration.
Earlier this year, she responded to a question about being cast in the supernatural thriller Odela 2 despite being called a ‘milky beauty.’ She challenged the perspective that such glamour should be “ashamed of or feel bad about.”
“Glamour in a woman is to be celebrated, and we women must celebrate ourselves,” she stated. “Then we can expect other people to celebrate us.”
She specifically praised the director of her project for not looking at women judgmentally, adding, “He looks at women like divine. Divine can be glamorous, lethal, powerful. A woman can be many, many things.” This past statement contrasts sharply with the objectifying lens Annu Kapoor used in his recent remarks.
Tamannaah Bhatia was last seen in the web series Do You Wanna Partner, in which she played a woman launching a beer startup.
