Before he became a successful actor, Ayushmann Khurrana worked in many things. He tried his luck as an RJ, and host. He wanted to be a singer once. In the up-and-coming episode of Indian Idol 13, the actor revealed that he auditioned for the famous singing reality show. But got rejected. More importantly, another name, who was rejected then, was the singer and now Indian Idol judge Neha Kakkar.
Ayushmann is awaiting the release of his film Action Hero. He will come on Indian Idol 13 to promote the film. On Saturday, Sony TV shared a promo of the episode where Ayushmann tells the judges about his tryout with the show.
He says, “Neha and I were rejected on Indian Idol on the same day. We travelled together in the train, from Mumbai to Delhi. There were 50 of us, who were rejected together and we were all travelling.” He added, “Neha aaj judge hai aur main yahaan (Neha is a judge today and I am here too). So this really means a lot.” Neha laughs as Ayushmann narrates the anecdotes. The other judges applaud.
In 2004, he won the second season of Roadies. He started a career in anchoring. It was not until 2012 that he made her Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor. On the other hand, Neha was one of the 12 finalists in the second season of Indian Idol in 2005. She started her singing career a few years later before finding success with Second Hand Jawani in the film Cocktail (2012). The two, after all, auditioned together for the first season of Indian Idol in 2004.
