Formerly known as Seraphina Rose, the 15-year-old daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner has now come out as transgender. At William John Garner, Jennifer’s father’s memorial service, they introduced themselves under the new name, Fin.

Seraphina becomes Fin

Seraphina made an appearance at her grandfather’s memorial service at a West Virginian church. They spoke at the memorial, introducing themselves with a buzz cut and a black tuxedo. “Hello, my name is Fin Affleck.”

Seraphina was spotted with her new haircut earlier this year. However, this marks the first time she has publicly introduced herself with her new name.

The three children of Jennifer and Ben are Violet Anne Affleck, 19, Seraphina, and 12-year-old Samuel Garner Affleck. Following their divorce in 2015, Ben and Jennifer are still co-parenting their children. Ben married actor-singer Jennifer Lopez in 2022.

Jennifer Garner’s note for her father

William John Garner, Jennifer’s dad, passed away on April 2 at the age of 85. Jennifer posted on Instagram to announce her father’s passing. The cause of death was not stated. Over the Easter weekend, William John Garner, a chemical engineer for Union Carbide, passed away.

“My dad passed peacefully Saturday afternoon. We were with him, singing Amazing Grace as he left us (did we carry him across or scare him away— valid question.).While there is no tragedy in the death of an 85-year-old man who lived a healthy, wonderful life, I know grief is unavoidable, waiting around unexpected corners. Today is for gratitude,” Jennifer wrote alongside a throwback photo of the father-daughter pair.

The 51-year-old actor said she and her family are grateful for her father’s gentle demeanour and quiet strength. “For how he teased with a mischievous smile and for the way he invented the role of all-in, ever-patient girl dad. We are grateful for his work ethic, leadership and faith,” she added.
