Annu Kapoor’s film ‘Humare Barah’ seems to be in trouble. Now the release date of his film has been postponed. The film was to be released on June 7, but the Bombay High Court has stayed its release till June 14. In fact, the vacation bench of Justices Nitin Borkar and Kamal Khata heard the petition of Azhar Tambol, in which objection was raised to some dialogues shown in the trailer of the film on social media.

In this case, the Central Bureau of Film Certification (CBFC) told the bench that it issues certificates to the film and has no control over the trailer of the film released on YouTube. Let us tell you that in the petition, the objection was raised to the two trailers aired by the filmmakers on YouTube, saying that it hurt their sentiments.

Advait Sethna, on behalf of the CBFC, said that the film has been examined at several levels by an eight-member committee. Some amendments were suggested by the committee, which have been complied with. Sethna said that the film was issued a U/A certificate only after the changes. On the court’s question about objections to some dialogues in the film, Sethna said that the filmmakers had removed them. On this, the bench asked that if the CBFC has removed the dialogues, then how did the petitioner see them? On what basis are you saying that these dialogues have been removed? On this, Sethna said that the CBFC has no control over the trailer released on the Internet.

He said that those dialogues were not in the later trailer released on the ticket booking app. After hearing the petition, the court postponed the release of the film for a week and asked the CBFC to file its reply. The High Court has fixed June 10 as the date for hearing the petition. Let us tell you that the producers and crew of the film had lodged a complaint at the Versova police station on May 24 that they were constantly receiving death and rape threats from unknown persons through social media.
