‘Bull****’: Salman Khan Calls Out Motivational Talk in Candid Conversation On Nephew Arhaan’s YouTube Channel

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently made his podcast debut on his nephew Arhaan Khan’s YouTube channel, Dumb Biryani, where he shared candid insights into his thoughts on success, discipline, and the often overstated concept of motivation. In an engaging chat with Arhaan and his friends, Dev Raiyani and Arush Verma, Salman offered valuable life lessons, particularly for the younger generation.

Expressing his contempt for “motivational talks,” Salman emphasized a no-nonsense approach to life. “If you actually want to learn, you can even learn from the tree or the wall. Of course, you need to listen to your guru, but that can even be Google or YouTube. All you need is to be disciplined,” Salman said. He went on to criticize those seeking external motivation for basic tasks, saying, “I don’t believe in this motivation bull**** talk. Brush your teeth, and get out. Nobody likes to go to the gym or learn something. It is painful, and it’s about willingly making a fool out of yourself. But you need to put yourself at that end, and get as good as possible.”

Salman also touched on the importance of maintaining enthusiasm in all aspects of life. He reminisced about his younger days playing sports, highlighting the joy despite exhaustion. “When we used to play a sport, and get tired, and start panting, we still had a wide smile on our faces. We wanted to get back and do the same thing all over again,” he recalled. “Nowadays, we lose that enthusiasm and get complacent. Never let go of that enthusiasm.”

He warned against complacency, saying it could lead to stagnation. “If you let go off this enthusiasm, you are allowing yourself to become a much older version of yourself. That should never happen,” Salman continued. “Don’t say ‘I am tired…’ Get up, and do something. Don’t say ‘I can’t sleep…’ Just do something long enough for your body to get tired and fall asleep.”

The actor, known for his unpredictable work schedule, also revealed his haphazard sleep cycle. “I generally sleep for a couple of hours, and once a month, I get 7-8 hours a day. Sometimes, I sleep when I get a few minutes’ break between shoots,” Salman shared. He added that he sleeps best when he has no other tasks to focus on, even admitting to sleeping during turbulence in flights because there is nothing else he can do.

Salman concluded by stressing the importance of hard work and gratitude. “You need to consistently put all your efforts into work, family, and friends. You just need to be there for them. Work really hard, and when you finally make it, do share the credit with all the people who helped you make it,” he said, adding that successful people often make the mistake of taking sole credit for their achievements. “You can take absolute responsibility for your failures, but success is never just yours. If you allow it to get to your head, you will get messed up, for sure.”

On the professional front, Salman, who recently made cameo appearances in Baby John and Singham Again, is awaiting the release of Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, which is expected to hit screens this Eid.
