“I can’t wait to be a homemaker” Deepika Padukone opens up like never before! Talks about depression, break-up and marriage!
It is indeed a tough time for dimpled actress Deepika Padukone as her film Padmavati continues to face the beat of Karni Sena’s protests. But the diva is handling it all with sheer elan. She isn’t actually unperturbed but is also not very outrageous about it. She has in fact, remained strong-headed and raised the concerns on the state of freedom of expression in our country.
Padmavati’s release date might have been postponed but the diva is still on an interview spree. In one such recent interview, the actress was asked about the lowest points of her life. Known to be blunt and on-face, the actress didn’t shy away and said, “A broken relationship and depression. Those were the two very low points of my life.”
When asked how she dealt with the both. She said, “Well, time and a lot of work on myself helped me overcome it. It came with an amazing support system, my friends and family. My friends and family keep me grounded. They keep me rooted. They anchor me. Also, today my work is everything. My work is me. I have created it. I am responsible for my success and failure. No one else can take that away from me. That’s on what I have focussed all my energies and efforts. It’s my baby.”
In an another interview, Deepika was asked when she plans to take her relationship to the next level (marriage)? To this, she said, “Hmmm…and what would the next level be? It’s not obvious. I don’t know if marriage per se… Because I believe every relationship has its natural progression. I’m discovering that myself.” We couldn’t agree with you more Deepika.
While many of her contemporaries are planning to get married soon, will Deepika also settle down in 2018? “I can’t put a year to it. Honestly, I’ve never been able to do anything that is time bound. I believe relationships have their way of unfolding. As far as my equation with him is concerned, I am sure that will unfold in its own manner. I can’t wait to be a homemaker. Because from the time I was a little girl, I’ve always wanted to be that. I’ve always wanted to start a family,” said Deepika.
We undeniably need to take some life-handling lessons for this extremely talented and wise diva. Much love and strength to you Deepika.
Let us also tell you, Deepika Padukone is probably one of the first celebrity to come out open about mental illness and depression. She not only revealed her story of battling depression but is also now working to aware masses about mental illness via her charity organisation.
This year, she also completed 10 years of her journey in Bollywood. She had the most dreamy debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. Since then, she has evolved a lot as an actress and delivered amazing performances in films like Bajirao Mastani, Cocktail, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Tamasha, Piku, etc.
We totally adore your spirit Deepika!
